Character Expression Tab

Overview

Character Expressions add emotions characters with premade expressions. The feature can be found at the bottom left screen by tapping the yellow tab. Expressions are divided by three rows, each row containing 12 expressions. More can be found by scrolling sideways. Currently, there are 29 character expressions, including 28 character expression and one reset option.

Expressions

Prior to the release of the trailer, there were eight character expressions, mainly Happy, Sad, Heart-eyed, Angry, "Mmm! Yummy!", Sick, Surprised and Scared. More expressions are introduced when certain updates are released.

	9. Pleading	No	Enlarged, puppy eyes Eyes and eyebrows are pulled towards the nose
	10. Blushed	No	Similar to Angry, but the face flushes in a rosy tinge Eyebrows widen away from eyes Eyes and pupils are dilated Mouth is a line, neutral position
	11. Heartbroken	Yes	Heart rises above and splits above head Eyes are closed and eyebrows arched towards the eyes Mouth opens in despair
	12. Wacky; Goofy	No	Eyebrows pulled a bit downward towards the right eye The right eye is winking Tongue is sticking out
	13. Amazed; Star-eyed	Yes	Radial Stripes glow and circle around the head Star eyes Mouth drops in wonder
	13. Shy 1	Yes	Creates a generic "break the wind" sound Brown smoke blows in front of character Grinning expression but the mouth pulls towards the cheeks.
	14. Shy 2	Yes	A large drop of sweat slides downward the head Smiles awkwardly
	15. Exhilarated	No	Similar to Happy, but the mouth is larger and the blush pulls towards the mouth The eyes corners towards the nose
	16. Gloomy	Yes	A small raincloud appears on head and rains. The raincloud slowly drifts way from the head The expression is similar to Heartbroken, except that the mouth is closed and the heart is replaced with a raincloud
	17. Evil	Yes	Purplish smoke appears and rises, followed by a sound of puffed smoked Mouth is positioned higher Eyebrows are pulled towards the eyes Eyes are pulled by the eyebrows. Face turns purple
	18. Smirk	Yes	Slow animation of mouth pulling away from the nose and lines forming at the sides of the eyes as if the character was smirking.
	19. Sleepy	Yes	The expression is neutral; eyes closed and mouth slightly diagonal. Z-shaped clouds form and fly above the head.
	20. Celebrate!	Yes	The expression is similar to Happy but only the teeth is showing and the eyebrows are raised a bit. Confetti rises above head
	21. Shivering	Yes	Snowflakes rise above head; followed by a cycle of small clouds forming from the mouth, which is similar to the case in Pom Pom Peaks. The whole head turns blue and continuously shakes Eyes are widened like an egg Eyebrows pull towards the eyes Grin is smaller
	22. Overheated	Yes	3/4 of the head turns reddish Small drops of sweat flow down the upper portion of the head Eyebrows are arched downwards; eyes pushed by cheeks Tongue sticks out similar to the Wacky but the corners of the mouth are pulled downwards.
	23. Kissing	Yes	Hearts fly away from the mouth and blink Eyes are closed and eyebrows are raised as usual Blush on cheeks Mouth puckers into a kiss
	24. Eyeroll	No	Eyes form a circle and pupils point upward Eyebrows rise up Mouth is set to a neutral position
	25. Confused 1; Cluttered	Yes	Comical Zigzags bounce away from head Eyebrows are longer than usual and are pulled towards the eyes The grin is wider than usual
	26. Confused 2; Perplexed	Yes	Question marks randomly rise above head Eyes are enlarged into an even circle; pupils are shrunk Mouth forms a zigzag as if it is quivering.
	27. Eerie; Restless	Yes	Half of the head is tinted with dark violet Eyebrows are unevenly raised Pupils of both eyes are shrunk into a dot One of the eyes constantly jerk Creepy smile
	28. Cross eyes, not cross-eyed	No	Both eyes are crossed; eyebrows are slightly raised Mouth is shaped like an O.

The Reset Expression isn't like the other expressions listed above, it resets the character's expression to default. It is the last expression on each row.

Notes

• All of the character expressions except for the reset expression replaces the eyes, eyebrows and mouths of the characters.
• Some of the character expressions with blushes removes or replaces blushes, freckles and dimples originally applied on the characters.
• Some of the effects continuously play while others disappear or fade for a while.
• Here are the Elemental Emotions of the Main Characters in Toca Boca Life:
  • Rita: Happy
  • Nari: Sad
  • Leon: Angry
  • Zeke: Shocked (Scared)

• Exhilarated was introduced as a user creation.
