Overview[]
The Start Screen or home screen is where players can access everything relating to the Toca Life: World app before playing. The start screen often changes during events and upcoming updates. A prompt to updatewill appear on the screen when an update has been released.[1]
Features[]
Play Button[]
This allows player to start the game. The icon is blue with a white triangle meaning play.
Settings[]
This allows general configuration of the game. It includes toggles to enable other features, including:
- Shop
- In-game music and sound effects
This can be accesssed by entering a 4-digit PIN prompt of one's birth year (usually ages 13 and up)
For Grown-Ups Button[]
Only accessed by the 4-digit PIN, this redirects to an article Designer Notes | Letter from the Play Designer. This articles can also be accessed in-browser.
Shop[]
This redirects you to the in-game store to buys in-app purchases, usually paid locations, Designer and Furniture packs in the Home Designer and bundles (packs). The icon is marked by a green button with a white pushcart with a smiley face.
Toca Life MIX[]
The "News" section of the interface. Toca Life MIX offers bite-sized entertainment and promotional content, such as Shorts, sneak peeks, clips of trailers and longer videos and polls. New content is added every week or when an update was released. This can be found at the top-left corner.
News Button[]
Not to be confused with Toca Life Mix, the News redirects to other games of Toca Boca. Like Settings, it is protected by 4-digit PIN prompt. The feature can be found at the lower right corner of the screen.
Reset Button[]
The Reset button reverts locations, as well hairstyles, clothing and accessories of characters, back to the default setting. It does not erase progress made in the Home Designer, characters made in the Character Creator (except for changes made outside the Character Creator) and purchases made from the Shop. The button only appears when changes have been made while playing
The icon is a reddish-orange with a white arrow turning counterclockwise.
Other features[]
The World is a globe-like feature doesn't have a feature other than to serve for aesthetic purposes. It spins slowly when untouched and bursts special effects randomly around the Worl.. When players spin the the World, the feature spins swiftly and releases special effects all around it. The Sky behind the world is the backdrop and is surrounded by clouds. It also serves nothing other than aesthetic purposes. When there is an annual event (e.g. Valentine's Halloween, Winter etc. ) the special effects that shoots out of the World and the color of the Sky changes.
The logo of the game show the overall title of the game. When tapped five times, it shows a string of letters and numbers unique to different factors (device model, version number, etc) as a support code.
